Each mirror directs light in different directions, shaping the light beam to match the layer being printed. Unlike SLA, DLP\u2019s pixel count remains constant regardless of the print size. Consequently, smaller models may have more detail than larger ones printed on the same DLP printer. The screen selectively blocks light, allowing it to pass only in areas where curing is needed. This setup not only simplifies the printing process but also reduces maintenance costs by eliminating moving parts.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, since LCD printers project the image directly onto the resin, the model size is limited only by the working area rather than by the projector\u2019s constraints. Despite this advantage, one drawback of LCD screens is their ability to absorb up to 90% of the UV radiation from the LEDs, which makes them slower than DLP printers. Additionally, for a 3D printer to work optimally, it must be paired with a good CAD design, high-quality resins, and proper post-processing.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Speed<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>DLP printers are the fastest, with speeds ranging from 30 to 60 mm per hour. However, accuracy and precision decrease when printing models larger than 200 x 120 mm. SLA is much slower, while LCD is somewhere in between.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Accuracy and Precision<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In 3D printing, accuracy refers to how closely the printer can replicate the CAD design, while precision means to the repeatability of results. Over time,\u00a0 manufacturers have significantly improved these factors, but some technologies degrade faster.
